Our Class Constitution

This week in class, we have discussed what an ideal teacher, student, and classroom look like, and we created our very own Class Constitution. As a reply to this post, please write a reflection of this process. Make sure to include:
  1. At least two parts of our Class Constitution that you feel most strongly about and why you feel this way about each.
  2. How our Class Constitution compares to the United States Constitution.
  3. Your first name and last initial (Example: Heather F.).
This response must be submitted no later than Sunday, September  1, 2013.

  1. The two parts of our class constitution I like are where it says to always do your best, and to treat others with respect. I think that no matter what you do you should always do the best you can at it. Treating others with respect is something everyone deserves. I think our class constitution compares with the US constitution because they both state what everyone is entitled to.

    1. DJ, I think you picked out some great parts of our class constitution! You are so right that it is important for everyone to do the best job they can. Great job!

  2. The two parts I like about the Class Constitution are that we should always do our best and follow Ms. Frehner's directions. I think they are important because it's better to try and fail than to never try at all. If you don't follow directions, you can't learn. The founders of our country wrote a Constitution because they wanted peace, and rules to keep us happy. Our Class Constitution helps us to keep learning, and gives rules to keep things fair.

    1. Jaden, I really like when you said that it's better to try and fail then to never try at all. If we never try, we'll never know if we will be successful. Thank you for putting so much thought into this!

  3. Respect others, because it is very importent to have respect for others and treat others the way you want to be treated.
Use tools apropretly, because it is disrespectful to not listen to the teacher when they tell you not to.
I think our constitution and the U.S. constitution are alike because they're both a set of rules.

    1. Rebecca, you are 100% correct when you compared our class constitution to the US Constitution. Both constitutions include rules to help us know what we are responsible to do. Thank you for sharing!

  4. I feel most strongly about the two rules, use the whiteboard tools correctly and use your microphone only when you are asked to. I feel strongly about these rules because if you don't use the white board tools correctly other people won't have space to write. If you talk into the microphone when you are not asked to, other people who have their hands raised won't get a turn. Our rules are only for a small class, while the Unites States Constitution is for the whole United States. Samuel L.

    1. Samuel, I completely agree with you when you talked about using the whiteboard tools and microphone appropriately. This is one way to help make our classroom a good learning environment. I also like that you compared the two constitutions by looking at how they might be different. Well done!

  5. The two parts of the class constitution I feel most strongly about are be kind and respect others and follow Ms. Frehner's rules. I feel most strongly about these because being kind and respectful to others is the right thing to do and if we don't follow Ms. Frehner's rules we can not learn. Our class constitution compares to the United States Constitution because it has rules to help our class get along and learn and the Untied States Constitution has rules to help our country get along.

    1. Austin, I like when you wrote that both our constitutions help everyone to get along, but you specified that our class constitution is to help everyone get along and learn in our class and the US Constitution is to help everyone in our country get along. Awesome job!
